Legacy RID Optimus Prime

So, Transformers Legacy Robots in Disguise (2001) Optimus Prime. Probably one of the most controversial figures of 2025 on account of the whole 'being an expensive crowdfunded premium collector-aimed figure that had a major design flaw where the interior sliding mechanism was too wide and could cause cracks to form in Optimus's abdomen after any number of transformations, including direct from the factory' thing.

Luckily, mine here didn't have any cracking from the factory and I opened him up and sanded down the edges on the inner mechanism to fix the issue. It was an easy fix, but also not something I should have to do for a figure like this.

Putting aside that design flaw, I otherwise fuckin love this thing? RID01 was literally my introduction to Transformers as a wee lass but I never got an original RID Optimus Prime as a kid. In fact, all I got from the toyline was Sky-Byte (my first Transformer ever!), X-Brawn (the super mode redeco), and Grimlock.

But now I have this one and that means my childhood want has been fulfilled (and I'm not ashamed to admit I backed the HasLab entirely because I wanted what I never got as a child.

He's so friggin cool, absolutely gorgeous vehicle mode, fun transformation, cool robot mode, the friggin' SUPER MODE (one of my actual favorite things on Transformers). I just love having him on my shelf on display in his super-mode, right next to Ultra Magnus and Bluebolts.

For the record, I am aware that I have no photos of the base mode here. I just don't really display the 'trailer' in that configuration, not that big a fan of it so I don't have any good photos of it, either.

And like I put at the top of this page, the photo galleries for Ultra Magnus and Bluebolts and Omega Prime are separate from this one, since I think it'd be rather unwieldy if I were covering everything from the set on one page. (I say this as if the Starscream & BB page isn't already fuck off massive).
