Generation 1 Astrotrain

It's G1 Astrotrain - specifically the 2019 Vintage G1 reissue.

Not gonna lie, I ain't got much to say about it. It's a G1 toy, it's pretty neat.

What I will say though is that it's kinda wild how this was one of the first triple changers ever put out in Transformers and it's also still one of the best 40 years later.

Think about how many modern triple changers suffer from the classic problem of 'one alt mode is pretty good, the other one suffers because there just ain't enough space to completely hide away all aspects of the first alt mode'.

Yet G1 Astrotrain doesn't really suffer from that. Sure, the thrusters on the rear are always there, but there ain't like obvious shuttle or train parts just stuck on the train or shuttle mode pretending like they belong there, when we all know they don't.

And yes, I know I have 'mistransformed' Astrotain's robot mode compared to the instuctions/box art, but also transforming his chest plate properly just means his (ball-jointed) shoulders literally can't do anything.

Btw anyone else notice that G1 Astrotrain has huge boobs before.
